And, to add insult to injury, I've been firewalled out of Maui from the office. How much does that suck?

So if I seem not to be around, I am. It's just a pain in the butt trying to type on my phone keyboard. If I'm typing over a sentence and a half. at that point, it's easier to just call someone and dictate what I want to say to them.

Don't worry, I have not abandoned the island. Ahoy!

Vmars, I hope things will get better for you. With a puppy to share it with, they have to. Hubby is finally doing better. I guess it was gastroenteritis ? -- stomach flu. The worst part was the dehydration. That caused a vicious circle, drink water, get sick, drink water, get sick, drink water, and so on.... He could not keep up with the loss of liquids.

Robin, I think you shoud go get one of the furry comforts, even if just for a short time.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, it did. I've been firewalled off MY OWN FRICKIN' SITE from the office. So when you don't see me? Not mad, not angry, not stomped off in a huff, not fallen victim to some bizarre ritual, and not turned into a vampire (dammit). Firewalled.

Wow, sounds like we all need next week to be better. (The cynic in me says it can't get much worse.) I had an alarm system on one of my places and I had so many problems I never bothered with it. You may find the puppy to be the best alarm you could have. I hope RiverY's husband is better, I hope V's head is better, I hope Robin's IT problems have a server meltdown and I hope Tiger wins the PGA!

OMG, does he have some type of flu? I hope he's better soon. Seriously, aside from getting a puppy, last week (and into this week) was the week from hell. Yeah, someone tried to break into my house. But I guess the brand-new security system scared them off. I had to have a new window put in though because they broke it.

If you asre askgin about real ones, I prefer propane agricultural ones myself, they are easy to get and you don't the mixing problems you do with liquid ones used by the military. If you are looking for verbal I suggest obscure references to ancient philosophers, mention of family antecedents, recall of past transgressions, examples of stupid things they have done, preferably while drunk, and mumbled unknown languages.

Well, I turned EVERYONE involved in to the Office of the Inspector General, so at least I'm somewhat protected from being fired for that cause.

Just think of it this way: every day you're in...is one less day you'll be in. You will find this to be doubly true once you're a senior, and you've decided to become homeless because no degree is worth this hassle. Not speaking from experience or anything. lol, except I did threaten to drop out the last week of school, when one of our professors assigned a powerpoint presentation to be 25 slides or more, and incorporate sound. Sorry VA I remember those days. As an English/History major, I pretty much had to read a book per week, per class. One time I had so many books, the cashier at the university bookstore took one look and went to get me a box instead of a bag to put them all in.

We moved into our house 20 years ago, and when I go into the "far reaches" there are still boxes that never got unpacked!

We cleaned out our garage last fall and hauled 3 truck loads to st. vinnies and had to pay extra for all of the garbage we put out. We would have been much better off moving at least once or twice during that period.
